Saturday night .. well, what I can remember!

On Saturday I showed up to Star City ready to play the $550 ANZAC Day tournament.

There weren't really too many hands of interest. I flopped a set early to double to 12k, and worked my stack to about 30k. Then I doubled up Martin Comer when I called his jam with 33 and couldn't get there against his 88. It's probably a bad call, but Martin is capable of shoving very wide there, and I figured that whilst I wasn't ever going to be in great shape it was a chance to get some chips.

So after that I got down to 10bb and jammed KQhh over an EP limper who insta called with his KK and I lose.

It should be noted Ali busted this tournament on the 2nd hand when he misread his cards ... oops.

Anyways, my friend Dan went on to finish 17th for a min cash.

After he busted Dan, Ali, Puzz and I decided to look for an empty BlackJack table - at 10pm on a Saturday night ... ummmm, lol ... that was until I found out about the Oasis Lounge !! Empty tables and FREE DRINKS !! I managed to win a few hundred, and we all turned a small profit I think.

There was one interesting situation where we were playing one box and Dan was dealt 18 v a dealers 7. Despite making no indication with his hands, the dealer decided to deal his own card which happened to be a 3. Dan called the pit boss over and said that he never indicated he was standing and that he wanted to hit on 18 (now guaranteed to get the 3 and give him 21). After much careful video review, Dan got the 3 and despite my cheering for the dealer to get 21 for the split Dan won. Sigh.

So with many, many drinks consumed we decided to head out to a club. Despite there being absolutely no cab line, we decided to take a stretch limo. Last Star City card pulled out had to pay .. and obviously Ali lost. LOL .. the kid flips so bad.

We continued drinking well into the early morning at a club in the Cross before getting back to my appartment at 6 and crashing only waking when housekeeping decided I had already slept 2 hours past checkout and it was time for me to leave !!

Somehow when I checked my wallet on Sunday afternoon I had about 200 more than I had started the previous day with ... which I think overall is a pretty good result !!

ANZPT starts tomorrow

Well I'm moving my blog back here, as it was way too difficult to manage on the other site.

The past few weeks not a lot has happened ... but here is the quick rundown.

* I got 3rd in the Titan Poker $250,000 for $20,000
* I bubbled the Final Table of the High Rollers Event at Joe Hachem Deep Stack
* I was one-outtered on the 3rd hand of Day 2 of the Main Event in Melbourne
* I won 3 seats to ANZPT Sydney
* I confirmed my Vegas trip (June 22th - July 17th) and have a rough schedule
* I have started doing weekly interviews on www.pokernetwork.com

So that about brings you up to speed.

The Main Event of the ANZPT Sydney starts at Star City Casino today. I am playing Day 1B and best estimates put the field at over 400 - meaning more than $200,000 will be going to the winner.

It should be a lot of fun, since it's a reasonable buy in and a lot of people will be taking a shot, but it's just big enough to ensure that all the big names in Australian poker will be there.

The big cash on Titan a few weeks ago was very helpful, as I was able to almost clear make-up with my backer ahead of going to Vegas in June. At this point it looks like I'll be spending upwards of $30,000usd on events.
